I was unable to find a list of Canon’s Nano USM lenses, so I thought I would create one. Nano USM (ultrasonic motor) is Canon’s latest generation of lens motors, combining the speed of USM motors with the silent action of their STM motors. If you’ve heard news of a new Nano USM lens and I haven’t listed it, please let me know below.
Comparing STM and USM Lenses
If you’re wondering about differences between STM vs USM Lenses, the following table shows a quick summary:
|AF Motor||Speed||Sound||Focus type|
|USM||Faster||Louder||Full time manual*|
|STM||Slower||Quieter||Focus by wire|
|Nano USM||Faster||Quieter||Focus by wire|
How do you get from Sapporo to Furano (or vice versa)?
The Chuo bus!
On a recent snowboarding trip to Japan, this is a question that I didn’t have a good answer for before arriving. Looking at Google showed a few results, including a train ride that required a changeover with JPRail, but nothing that inspired me with confidence. Upon asking the staff (who were locals) at my accommodation, I was informed that the Chuo bus was probably my best option. Upon leaving my accommodation, this is what I decided to do.
