If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably had trouble getting to sleep before. Sometimes going to bed and just lying there for hours before falling asleep. Or waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep.
The other day I saw an internet photo of an overweight (and clearly overfed) dog, with the caption “Too Much Want”.
It got me to thinking about human behaviour and how we react similarly. Barring any immediate and significant negative consequences, if something we desire is put in front of us, we’ll probably take it. Short term gain appeals more than long term planning, whether it be in regards to food, money, health or other things.
Everyone is different.
Our bodies can look very different – large, small, straight, curved and everything in between. Different coloured eyes, hair and skin. Different foods stimulate different responses in different people.
Everyone is the same.
Our bodies are largely the same. We have the same organs, respond similarly to physical stimuli and all benefit from proper diet, nutrition and rest.
