“What is value?”
This is a question I was posed with a long time ago. From time to time, I like to reflect upon what value is.
For example, $50 is $50, right? Well yes, but only because we all agree on what $50 is. If the dollar were to collapse, $50 would cease to be worth its face value (and you will have a lot of very scared people).
What about the latest and greatest smart phone? Probably worth a lot to you or someone on eBay. But I’m sure it wouldn’t be worth much to an Amazonian tribesman who has no contact with the technological world.
So what are the things that you value most? Your car? Your world famous designer dress? The image of yourself that you present on Facebook?
Maybe it’s time to rethink what is actually valuable in this world…
